Twice named Best Jazz Vocalist at the Scottish Jazz Awards, Ali is an award-winning singer, historian, and charismatic performer celebrated internationally for her authentic take on early jazz and blues.

For this special Shetland concert, Ali is joined by an exceptional international line-up of musicians:

• Andy Schumm (Chicago, USA) – A true master of vintage jazz, Andy is a multi-instrumentalist and one of the world’s leading cornet players, with residencies at Chicago’s legendary Green Mill speakeasy.

• Natalie Scharf (Chicago, USA) – A rising star of early jazz and blues on tenor saxophone, bringing a rich, soulful sound steeped in the tradition of the great swing-era players.

• Jennifer Hodges (New York, USA) – Grammy-nominated bassist and regular at Birdland and top NYC venues, renowned for her deep groove and impeccable swing.

• Lucas Ferrari (Buenos Aires, Argentina) – A stride piano sensation whose dazzling technique and infectious energy have made him a key figure in Argentina’s thriving jazz scene.

• Fernando Montardit (Buenos Aires, Argentina) – Banjo and guitar maestro, blending the vibrant rhythms of Latin America with the spirited sounds of New Orleans jazz.

Together, this all-star ensemble delivers a high-energy, toe-tapping celebration of the 1920s and ’30s — sizzling hot jazz, soulful blues, and swinging rhythms performed with breathtaking skill and sheer joy.
